Sound familiar?

Your snatch can only go as far as your overhead mobility allows.

You've drilled the swing. You've worked the hip hinge. You've watched the videos and practiced the cues. And still - when the bell reaches overhead, something doesn't feel right.

The lockout is shaky. The bell drifts forward. Your lower back takes a hit. Or maybe you just can't get the bell where it's supposed to go no matter what you try.

Here's what most coaches and athletes miss:

The snatch โ€˜problemโ€™ usually isn't starting at the snatch.

It's starting at the overhead position. Specifically - at your ability to reach, stack, and stabilize with a fully loaded arm overhead. And that ability depends almost entirely on the mobility of your rib cage, your thoracic spine, and your pelvis.

If any one of those is restricted, the body finds a way around it. It compensates. It borrows from somewhere else. And those compensations show up in your snatch - as shakiness, pain, inconsistency, or a ceiling you can't seem to break through.

Why Iโ€™m teaching this

I know this problem firsthand. Literally.

In 2023, I underwent a double mastectomy and breast reconstruction following a breast cancer diagnosis. Since that surgery, my body has changed in ways I didn't anticipate - and one of the most significant has been my overhead range of motion.

The anterior chest wall compression from surgery created a forward head lean, a slight hyperkyphotic thoracic spine, and a significant restriction in how high I can reach overhead. Something I never struggled with before.

As a PA-C and strength coach, I understood exactly what was happening anatomically. But understanding it and fixing it are two different things.

What I've learned through this process - through my own assessments, my own corrective work, and years of coaching hundreds of movers and coaches - is that overhead restriction is far more common than people realize. And it shows up in far more places than just the snatch.

Whether it's from surgery, years of sitting at a desk, looking at your phone, or simply how your body has learned to move - the pattern is the same. And it's fixable.

That's what this webinar is about.

Sam Ciaccia is a PA-C, CSCS, and the founder of Bell Mechanics โ€” a kettlebell education system built at the intersection of clinical medicine and coaching practice, trusted by coaches and movers around the world.

Inside the webinar

What you'll walk away with

This is a 90-minute live education session. You will leave with a clear framework you can use immediately, whether you're a coach working with clients or an athlete trying to fix your own movement.

โœ“ Why limited overhead range of motion is more common - and more disguised - than most people realize

โœ“ The anatomy behind what should be happening when you go overhead, and where it breaks down

โœ“ A live overhead self-assessment you can run on yourself during the webinar

โœ“ The most common compensations the body uses to "fake" overhead mobility - and how to spot them in yourself and your clients

โœ“ Why the rib cage is the key to overhead mobility - and what happens when it's stiff or compressed

โœ“ Targeted exercises for rib cage expansion, thoracic rotation, and muscle-tension release

โœ“ How the hip-pelvis relationship affects your overhead position โ€” and your snatch

โœ“ Sam's personal posture assessment, corrective sequence, and progress โ€” including the impact of her double mastectomy and cesarean section on her movement

โœ“ A live practice round: run through the assessment and exercises together as a group

This is for you ifโ€ฆ

โœ“ You train with kettlebells and your snatch has a ceiling you can't break through

โœ“You've been told your technique is "fine" but the lift still doesn't feel right

โœ“You sit at a desk, look at your phone often, or have ever had surgery - and you suspect your posture is affecting your movement

โœ“ You're a coach who wants to understand what's actually happening upstream when a client's snatch breaks down

โœ“ You've had breast surgery, shoulder surgery, or any procedure that changed your anterior chest wall or posture

โœ“ You want to train smarter - understanding your body's compensations before loading them further

Sam is a Physician Assistant and Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist who spent years in emergency medicine before pivoting to full-time coaching and education.

She founded Bell Mechanics to fill a gap she saw in fitness education โ€” a place where the biomechanics, anatomy, and clinical precision of medicine met the real-world demands of coaching. Over the past several years, she has trained coaches and movers around the world through Bell Mechanics' courses, certifications, and mentorship programs.

Sam's approach is grounded in one principle: understand the body before you load it. Every cue, every progression, every exercise she teaches comes from that framework - built over a decade of coaching, clinical practice, and her own movement journey.

SNATCHED is a direct product of that journey - including the personal chapters she didn't plan for.
